Overview
SSI (Supplemental Security Income) provides monthly payments to people with limited income and resources who are 65 or older, blind, or disabled.
Who Qualifies
- Age 65 or older, OR blind, OR have a qualifying disability
- Limited income (varies, but generally very low)
- Limited resources (under $2,000 individual, $3,000 couple)
- U.S. citizen or certain qualified non-citizens
How to Apply

What You Get

Age-based SSI: 1-3 months. Disability-based SSI: 3-6 months or longer. Appeals can take 1-2 years.
Important Tips
